DSLR Firmware Hacking

This weekend I will be going camping. While up in the woods, my friends and I plan to catch the Perseid meteor shower in her height of action (August 11-13th.) Naturally I will be bringing my camera. However, it does not support a long exposure mode where I don't have to hold down the "bulb" for 15 minutes.  Luckily, I've been using something called 400Plus for over a year now and it offers such a function.

114th Larchmont Race Week

From July 14th until the 22nd Larchmont Yacht Club held it's annual Larchmont Race Week. I was fortunate enough to be out on the 21st crewing on Snow Goose, a C&C 35. EBYRA Wed Night Race Series

The stopping ground of the EBYRA is Eastchester Bay, NY. Although their numbers have dwindled down to 39 competing boats they hold 18 races throughout the season. I have been participating in the races for a few years now. Unfortunately these photos don't do justice for the feel of "39" boats. Stick around the blog and some other shots may pop up.

Can 1 Thu Night Series

Every Thursday from May to September, Can 1 Evening Race Association hosts a sailboat race off of Execution Rocks' can one. While crewing on Evelyn this 7th, we were saved the severe downpour which was forecasted throughout Western Long Island Sound. As our drizzle passed on and the clouds followed the rain, the sunset broke through exposing a sky of a golden yellow turning a dark blue.

Cloud cover continues to break as a Can 1 racer passes in front of the sun.
